Could Metabolic Health Change the Way We Think About Lipedema?
Join Siobhan Huggins for an engaging, research-driven conversation exploring the connections between metabolic health, inflammation, and lipedemaâand why therapeutic carbohydrate reduction and ketogenic approaches may be worth understanding as part of that conversation.
What Youâll Learn
â Metabolic Health & Lipedema
What does metabolic health have to do with lipedema? Weâll look at the relationship between metabolism, insulin, inflammation, and the environment in which lipedema exists.
â Therapeutic Carbohydrate Reduction for Lipedema
What happens when carbohydrate intake is reduced? Weâll explore the metabolic changes that can occur and why this approach has generated so much interest for people with metabolic and inflammatory conditions.
â Why Keto for Lipedema?
Why might a ketogenic approach be relevant for someone with lipedema? Weâll look beyond âketo makes you lose weightâ and explore possible mechanismsâincluding energy metabolism, ketones, and the bodyâs metabolic signaling.
â Lipedema, Metabolic Health & Inflammation
Inflammation is often treated as the enemyâbut is the story really that simple? Drawing from her research into inflammation and metabolism, Siobhan will examine inflammation as a biological response and consider what may be driving it in chronic conditions.

"My goodness I am so glad I found this website! I have been a CLT since 2005 and have yet to find any actual appropriate education to address lipedema - I am hoping for further education opportunities!"
~Danielle R.
"Through you and all the others I have met along the way, I am in a much better place. I am grateful for all of you and will continue to follow you as much as I can."
~Melody K.
"Thank you. I am 55 and been living with lipedema from about age 14. Only in August 2020 heard about lipedema. An answer at last why I do not lose weight in certain areas. Understanding my body now do help. Difficult to find doctors in South Africa that know about lipedema. So thank you again for all your hard work and teaching us. Much appreciated!"

Meet Our Expert Presenters
Siobhan Huggins
Research Specialist, Lipedema Simplified
Siobhan is a researcher and educator with a particular interest in metabolism, cholesterol, inflammation, and lipedema. After adopting a ketogenic diet in 2016 and restoring her metabolic health, she became deeply interested in researching the mechanisms behind metabolic health and how the body responds to different dietary environments.
Her presentations are known for taking complex physiology and breaking it down into understandable concepts while questioning assumptions and encouraging people to look closely at the evidence.
Siobhan also brings an important perspective to the conversation: we don't know everything yet. In her previous work, she emphasized that some questions surrounding ketogenic diets, ketones, and inflammation remain open areas for research.
Hosted by:
Catherine Seo, PhD
Founder & CEO, Lipedema Simplified & Lipedema Project
A trailblazer and visionary, Dr. Seo is not only an esteemed authority on Lipedema, she's also lived through its challenges. Through her extensive research and personal journey, she has unlocked the keys to effectively managing and thriving with Lipedema.
Plus: A Look at Keto Chow
This webinar is sponsored by Keto Chow, and a member of the Keto Chow team will join us for a brief introduction to how Keto Chow can fit into a metabolic-health-focused approach.
This will be a short, practical portion of the webinar focused on how Keto Chow can support people who are exploring carbohydrate reduction and a ketogenic approach, rather than a lengthy product presentation.
